Celebrating our 3rd annual retreat for couples in our community

Jovanni and I,
Jovanni's husband could not join here so I jokingly stepped in to take a picture with her! She was instrumental in helping us plan and execute the retreat!

Perhaps a bit, late, but I felt it is still so worthy of sharing the wonderful things that took place during the 3rd annual Retreat for couples that Gabriel and I held here at Santa Maria Magdalena’s Home.
This year we expanded it to an all-day event where in the couples, some who have received the sacrament of Marriage, along with others who have yet received the sacrament of marriage. The day consisted of fun games, talks, Mass, and a romantic dinner.
Together they learned how to transmit the love of Christ within their homes and community. As Pope John Paul II called marriage the primordial sacrament, which “transmits in the visible world the invisible mystery hidden in God.” The couples learned that true love is not at all what the world wants them to believe but that true love is a sacrifice of self that involves peace and pain. They learned as JP II taught “if their love is a true gift of self, their love will not only survive but grow stronger and sink deeper roots”. The couples also learned about the dangers of birth control and learned about Natural Family Planning and how it allows them to become a total gift of self to one another.🎁
I asked you to please pray for these couples especially for the couples who have yet received the sacrament of Marriage. Please pray that their hearts will desire to invite the Lord into their union.
With so much Love we thank each one of you for your prayers for us and for those we serve!
❤️May we learn to love like Jesus! ❤️
